They’re in it strictly for profit, you will be treated like a cash cow, rather than a human being. Their curriculum is taking attendance, weekly check ins then taking turns reading out of an outdated book with outdated statistics and many grammatical errors (You have to purchase separately.) It’s a joke gone bad. The class runs itself and the counselors are just there to make sure you have your camera activated. I advise shopping around for classes somewhere else. I discharged from these guys and found a cheaper/better agency. Director of client support (Alex) is incompetent and has a biased ego/attitude. Don’t give these folks your hard earned money. They don’t care about you!

I have never seen anything like this organization in my life. It is poorly run; there is no support via phone or text, and no one answers the phone. The teacher I was unfortunately assigned, Jodi, was so rude. I have a disability, and I was trying to communicate this, and she was absolutely a tyrant; she literally cut me off and kicked me out of a class. I am overbilled and never receive the data I request or need, and then there is no help via a human, no customer service, and no solutions. You are an island by yourself and treated poorly. The team is rude when you work with them. It is so tricky, and the unfortunate thing is we HAVE to be enrolled here for a serious issue, and there is no outlook to complete or succeed. I do not know what to do but warn anyone to find another classroom and therapy site. Like most, unfortunately, I am stuck here, and I have to comply, or I have problems, and no matter how hard I work to get all my data accomplished and set up to attend classes, I can not. I can not participate in classes; however, they have been billing my card for classes since December, and then you have a host of unrecognized charges. I worked in corporate marketing for 22 years and was a high-end CMO corporate manager at Apple Inc. & Michael Kors, and now I can not work due to my disability, and it seems to get worse with each interaction at 5280. I would run kicking and screaming in the other direction from 5280, but I HAVE to attend classes and therapy here.

Dear BBB, I am submitting this formal complaint against 5280 Human Care specifically addressing issues with their services and the concerning conduct of their representative, Alex Jurich. On Feb 1, 2024, I made a request for a refund due to unsatisfactory experiences with the classes. In response, Mr. Jurich provided a dismissive reply, refusing to acknowledge the concerns raised about poor class quality and unprofessional conduct. His statement, "If you feel that these classes are not up to your standard, it is regretful that you feel that way, but I cannot do anything to change your mind at this juncture," is not only unacceptable but becomes more troubling given the subsequent dismissal of the instructor, which further highlights the inadequacy of the services provided. Throughout my attendance at 5280 Human Care, I encountered subpar and unprofessional classes, and when I expressed dissatisfaction, it was met with mockery. The departure of the instructor underscored the inadequacies of the services, yet my concerns were not appropriately addressed. Equally disconcerting is Mr. Jurich's lack of inquiry into my sobriety, showing a lack of empathy and understanding for the personal challenges I am overcoming. Additionally, while I acknowledge the necessity of addressing unpaid fees and my dismissal due to financial constraints, the subsequent ban imposed by Mr. Jurich is disproportionately harsh, raising questions about the organization's ethical conduct and commitment to customer satisfaction. Expressing legitimate concerns about the quality of services should not result in punitive measures, such as being banned from future interactions with the organization. This ban contradicts fair business principles and warrants a thorough investigation into 5280 Human Care's conduct. I am seeking a complete refund, excluding the last class with different instructors due to the original teacher being replaced and concealed. I have evidence to support my claims, including details of all payments made. This matter requires a comprehensive examination, addressing service issues and the punitive actions taken against a dissatisfied customer. I kindly request the BBB's assistance in facilitating a fair resolution that upholds consumer rights and ensures accountability for service providers. Once the state of colorado looks at the high mortality rate against people who cannot afford representation. 5280 Human Care is so new to the game their recidivism rates have no foundation. DO NOT SPEAK IN CLASS. Everything you say will be used against you- this is not a safe place. You will have no growth because you fear speaking. If you have an emotion arise, they won't help you navigate it, they drop YOU. LIE people- LIE and do the motions.It'll be over soon. My name is here. I am a client. You know where I work and how protective I am over others actively trying. You also so how mental health is intertwined with addiction AND recovery. How can you address triggers when your people are causing them? To whomever is reading this . There are people in Colorado who actually care. Do not stop seeking.

Haven't even started classes and I'm already seeing a lot of integrity issues with this company. This is gonna be a frustrating few months of disengenuous education/therapy. Would love for them to change my mind, but I kind of doubt it considering what I'm seeing from other reviews.

The therapist I had is excellent, Christina. 5280 is not so good! PLEASE BE AWARE, IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND ANY CLASS FOR ANY REASON, YOU WILL BE FINED!!!! IF YOU GO TO THE HOSPITAL, YOU BETTER BRING A $20 TO PAY YOUR "NO SHOW" FINE!!! From my experience, I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

5280 and the work of Michelle W as a counsellor there is incredible. We have worked together for a number of weeks, both in groups and in private sessions. Aside from teaching the required material, we have discussed other avenues to address addiction and recovery - striving for a better and more meaningful life. Her own experiences, educational background, and interests serve her well as she sets aside the "outline" and engages the client at a one on one level, as a person. Counselors are great but the company itself blatantly profits off people in a rough time. There's multiple other online treatment courses in Colorado that will actually treat you like a human.
